Another week, another dip. I am very conscious that I just posted this Creamy Whipped Feta Dip, but I also know it is summer season and there is a lot of snacking going on. That is, at least, in my household. And there are never enough dip options to snack on, so here is another one that is super easy and quick to make – this quick and easy butterbean dip. I have served this twice now at a gathering, and it was gone in a flash. Trust me on this one!

What Is a Butterbean Dip?
If you have not come across butterbeans: They are a slightly thicker, large, white, and very creamy bean, oftentimes used in Italian cuisine. They are incredibly mild, and due to their creaminess can easily be blended into a lovely dipable format that is both smooth and creamy. Butterbeans are also rich in plant-based protein, fiber, and contain quite a bit of iron. Because butterbeans are so soft and oftentimes have a slightly nutty or earthy flavor, they take on other flavors quite well, which makes them perfect as a base for dipping. In this instance, we are adding garlic, lots of lemon, and herbs, which all shine in this dish.

How To Serve This Quick and Easy Butterbean Dip
You can serve this dip with lots of veggies, for example, cucumber, carrots, or red pepper. You can also use pita bread, nachos, or crisps. This dip is also lovely spread on (gluten-free) bread, toast, wraps, or pitas a base for everything else you would like to pile in there.

Easy Swaps and Questions
How long can I store this quick and easy butterbean dip? If you keep this in an airtight container in the fridge, it will last you for a good 3-4 days. You could also freeze it, but it likely needs re-blending once you are de-thawing it. It also takes only 5 minutes to make – just make a new batch if needed ;).
Should I use canned or dried beans? If you are using dried beans, they need to be soaked in water for at least 12 hours and then cooked before you can make the dip. I would 100% recommend canned beans for this dip, as the process is already done for you.
Can I use other beans if I do not find butterbeans? Yes, typically cannellini beans, or navy beans are good substitutes and can be used in equal measure. You may just have to add more water or oil in order for them to get this rich, creamy texture.
